Portugal with Euro leadership in sight
LFF Stadium in Vilnius will host the fourth round of the Group B team on Tuesday. In the event of victory, leaders Ukraine will be just five points away.
After winning their first UEFA European Championship 2020 qualifying win against Serbia 4-2, the Portuguese team is visiting Lithuania on Tuesday to shorten the distance for the UEFA Cup leaders. Group B, Ukraine.
In the event of another triumph, the corner team will be just five points off the top spot, but with one game left, meaning they can catch a glimpse of the ‘throne’ at the next break scheduled for early October.
The match will be played on synthetic turf, but Fernando Santos made it clear the day before that this will not serve as an excuse, because “this is a final and the finals are to win”.
On the other side is the ‘red lantern’ of this group. Lithuania takes just one point from four games, which they received at Luxembourg, losing to Arlon and their games against Serbia and Ukraine.
Lithuania-Portugal played at LFF Stadium in Vilnius, will be judged by the Dutchman Bas Nijhuis, and have a kick-off scheduled for 19:45.
