Portuguese-Canadian Luís Sequeira returns to work with Guillermo del Toro

Mexican director Guillermo del Toro started shooting a new film, ‘Nightmare Alley’, and will again have the Portuguese-Canadian Luís Sequeira, who signed the wardrobe for ‘A Forma da Água’.

According to the publication Indiwire, Guillermo del Toro is filming ‘Nightmare Alley’ in Toronto, Canada, having summoned many of those who worked with him in the previous film, ‘A Forma da Água’, including Luís Sequeira, in the direction of wardrobe.

Luís Sequeira was born in Canada, is the son of Portuguese, has dual nationality and has more than thirty years of career between fashion and cinema.

In 2018 he was nominated for the Oscar for best wardrobe with ‘The Shape of Water’, which won Guillermo del Toro the American Academy awards for ‘best film’ and ‘best achievement’.

After ‘A Forma da Água’, Luís Sequeira signed the wardrobe for the films ‘The Christmas Chronicles’, by Clay Kaytis, ‘It – Chapter 2’, by Andy Muschietti, and ‘Monster Problems’, by Michael Matthews, this one still in post-production.

Produced by Searchlight Pictures, ‘Nightmare Alley’ is an adaptation of a 1946 William Lindsay Gresham novel of the same name, with an argument adapted by Guillermo del Toro himself, in partnership with Kim Morgan.

Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins (who entered ‘The Shape of Water’), Ron Perlman, Rooney Mara and David Strathairn are all in the cast.

While filming “Nightmare Alley ‘, Guillermo del Toro has in pre-production the film’ Pinnochio ‘and the series’ Wizards’.
