‘Gaza, mon amour’ is signed by the brothers Tarzan and Arab Nasser, and was partially shot in the Algarve, co-produced by the Portuguese Ukbar Filmes.
The film, which premiered in 2020 at the Venice Film Festival, is inspired by a true story that took place in Gaza, in 2014, when a fisherman found a statue of Apollo in the sea.
In addition to shooting in Portugal, with the recreation of the ports of Gaza in the Algarve, the Portuguese co-production also included sound work, characterization and mixing.
‘Gaza, mon amour’ was Palestine’s nomination for an Oscar for Best International Film.
