Portuguese film ‘A Dança do Cipreste’ premieres in France

The 31st edition of FID Marseille, a festival dedicated to documentary, is scheduled from 22 to 26 July and will take place physically in a room in that French city, which is why it is described as the first post-Covid-19 festival.

According to the schedule announced today, in the international competition is the experimental documentary ‘A Dança do Cipreste’, by Francisco Queimadela and Mariana Caló, which will make the world premiere.

‘A Dança do Cipreste’ is the third collaborative film by Francisco Queimadela and Mariana Caló, after ‘A trama e o círculo’ (2014) and ‘Sombra luminosa’ (2018).

The film is also part of a new competitive section called ‘Flash’, transversal to the entire program.

Miguel Dias, director of the Vila do Conde Short Film Festival, is part of the juries of this edition.

Weeks before the festival takes place, from 6 to 10 July, FIDLab, the international co-production platform, is scheduled for which the project ‘Xiao li’, by the Portuguese-Swiss duo Maia Kosa and Sérgio da was selected. Costa, still under development.
