Portuguese music festival celebrating love ‘grows’ in 2019

Ponta Delgada, Guimarães, Santarém and Estarreja hosted in February, for the first time, concerts of the Montepio O Vezes O Amor festival, which is the 5th edition reaches 17 Portuguese cities, the organization announced today.

The festival “returns on 14, 15 and 16 February to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the heart of 17 Portuguese cities to the sound of great names of the national music,” reads a statement released today by the organization.

In the 5th edition, the festival, “with rooms always sold out in previous editions”, debuts in Ponta Delgada, Guimarães, Santarém and Estarreja, and returns to Coimbra and Caldas da Rainha.

According to the organization, “the traditional capital of love remains: Aveiro, Beja, Castelo Branco, Évora, Faro, Lagoa, Leiria, Lisbon, Porto, Setúbal and Vila do Conde.”

In 2019, “the names summoned to warm hearts in love with their emblematic and sweeping songs” are: Aurea, Amor Electro, Cuca Rosetta, David Fonseca, Diogo Piçarra, Herman José, HMB, João Pedro Pais, José Cid, Luísa Sobral , Mafalda Veiga, Miguel Araújo, Raquel Tavares, Sara Tavares, Tiago Bettencourt, The Gift and Xutos & Pontapés.

The Love Festival was created in 2015, bringing together at the same time eight cities with simultaneous concerts, with the aim of increasing the offer of Portuguese music shows outside the summer festival circuit.
