Portuguese photographer Fernando Marante wins Paris Photo award
The Portuguese was announced today as one of the winners of the Carte Blanche – Étudiants Prize awarded by Paris Photo, one of the largest international photography fairs that will take place from 7 to 10 November in the French capital.
Paris Photo announced this morning, in Paris, the news of its next edition, as well as the winners of the Carte Blanche – Étudiants award, a prize for young talent from European schools, awarded by the organization of this international exhibition in partnership with Picto Foundation and SNCF, a railway company in France.
In addition to the Portuguese artist, three other projects – all from the United Kingdom – were also distinguished, among applications from over 200 European photography schools.
The winners of this award will see their work displayed on giant screens at Gare du Nord, one of the largest Parisian train stations, from October 10 to November 20, and in a dedicated space during Paris Photo, which will be held at the Grand Palais.
Paris Photo will bring together 213 exhibitors from 31 different countries where more than 1000 photographers from around the world will be represented. Lisbon’s galleries Carlos Carvalho and Filomena Soares will be present in this edition. In 2020, this show will be held for the first time in New York, April 2-5.
