Portuguese short film nominated for two Quirino awards

‘Elo’, by Alexandra Ramires, is nominated for Best Animated Short Film and for Quirino for Best Visual Development.

The short film is an animation in graphite on paper and without dialogues, with an argument by Alexandra Ramires and writer Regina Guimarães. It is the first film in Alexandra Ramires’ own name, after having co-signed “Água mole”, with Laura Gonçalves.

Produced by Bando à Parte, in co-production with France, “Elo” has already been shown in around 30 festivals and exhibitions, and has a dozen awards.

From the list of nominees for Quirino, released today, we also highlight the prize for best school short film, for which “Le retour des vagues”, a film by several authors, co-signed by Francisco Moutinho de Magalhães, made at Escola of Image Gobelins, in France.

The fourth edition of the Quirino Awards was scheduled for May 29, in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain, being preceded, from the 27th, by the Ibero-American Forum on Coproduction and Business, dedicated to cinema professionals from animation.

Prizes will be awarded for feature films, series, short films, school shorts, bespoke works, video game animation, original sound and music design, visual development and animation design.
