Portuguese teams meet opponents in Europa League ‘Round of 32’

The Europa League ‘Round of 32’ draw has dictated that Sporting, the only Portuguese side that did not make it head-to-head, turned out to be the lucky one as they face Basaksehir.

Benfica, who have fallen from the Champions League, will face Luís Castro’s Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Porto will face Bayer Leverkusen and, finally, Sporting Braga will ‘force’ Rangers to return to Portugal

As for the other Portuguese coaches in the competition, Pedro Martins’ Olympiacos will face Arsenal, Nuno Espírito Santo’s Wolverhampton, Espanyol and Paulo Fonseca’s AS Roma, Gent.

The UEFA Europa League round of 32 first leg kicks off on February 20 next year, with the final decisions scheduled just one week later, on the 27th of the same month.
