Posta Barrosã is a Gastronomic Highlight in Ponte da Barca

From May 16 to 18

From May 16 to 18, Ponte da Barca invites all lovers of good food to savour the excellence of regional cuisine at the Posta Barrosã Gastronomic Weekend. For three days, this emblematic dish will be the star of several restaurants in the city, offering a unique culinary experience.

Several establishments in the region are participating in this initiative – Casa do Destro, Casa dos Leitões, Churrasqueira Barquense, Kibom, Lordelo, Mó, Novas Pontes, O Emigrante, O Moinho, S. Martinho Lindoso, Santo António, Tasquinha das Delícias and Varela – each with its interpretation of Posta Barrosã, combining tradition, creativity and the mastery of local cuisine.

The meat of the Barrosã breed, recognised for its succulent texture and unmistakable flavour, comes from animals raised on the natural pastures of Serra Amarela. The dish will be served with typical regional accompaniments – rice or mashed potatoes – and paired with the famous local Vinho Verde wines, in a combination that highlights the best of Minas Gerais flavours.

The initiative is promoted by the City of Ponte da Barca, in partnership with the Porto and North of Portugal Tourism Board, in a celebration of tradition, local products and the gastronomic identity of Minho.
