Pousada do Porto – Rua das Flores presents the P Gastro Bar

The most recent Pousada de Portugal presents the P Gastro Bar to its guests and visitors so that they can take a break and enjoy the delicious snacks that make up its menu.

This was the letter chosen to express the offer of this space decorated with a cosmopolitan and informal atmosphere, where it is possible to enjoy the suggestions of its menu, every day, from 11:30 am to 11:00 pm.

The concept of P Gastro Bar is one of Sharing and, to start off in the best way, you should try the vegetable tempura, the Portuguese stew croquettes with mustard, the veal woodpecker with pickles, the Corvina ceviche from our coast, or the traditional Algarve octopus salad. At the P Gastro Bar, there is also Pão served as an open toast with ham and buttered Serra cheese, or a toast with smoked salmon and avocado; the steer nail is served in the bolo do caco.

These are some of the proposals at P Gastro Bar that promote the most traditional flavors and translate the imagination of a journey from north to south of the country, and also to the islands of Madeira and the Azores. The golden cod – an emblematic recipe for the Pousadas de Portugal -, also guarantees its presence in this menu in order to represent the history and tradition of the brand that assumes this place. The Pousadas de Portugal mark eight decades of history this year and, due to their geographical presence, represent the largest chain of restaurants serving traditional Portuguese cuisine. P Gastro Bar, the most recent member of this network, also offers other options such as comfort food, such as braised beef entrecôte, vegetable curry, or linguini Nero with sautéed shrimp. There are also bowls and salads to enjoy at any time of day.

And, to finish off the meal, in this space of the Pousada do Porto – Rua das Flores there are several desserts to try, such as the creamy chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, the custard, and the orange pie, also highlighting the trilogy with history, the name given to the dessert that brings together some of the most appreciated conventual sweets: the toucinho do Céu, the encharcada and eggs and the sericá with dried plums from Elvas; these three candies are served with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream to balance the flavors.

The Chef de Cuisine at P Gastro Bar, and the author of this letter, is Duarte Catela. He is 34 years old and is from Estremoz, a village in Alentejo. He began his professional career in the group, working in different geographies, from Sagres to Palmela and Queluz. He evolved in the group, revealing his talent within the network of Pousadas de Portugal, and now assumes this prominent place at Pousada do Porto – Rua das Flores.
Inaugurated in October of last year, the most recent Pousada de Portugal is located in the historic center of the city, in an exclusive pedestrian access street with a lot of dynamics and local commerce. In addition to the 36 seats available inside the P Gastro Bar, it is also possible to enjoy these options on the esplanade on the main street that gives this Pousada its name. Here, it is possible to enjoy wines or cocktails, because in the P Gastro Bar menu, in addition to the focus on the quality of the ingredients, there is also a focus on the variety of drinks, especially in the wine references; white, rosé, green, red and port wines, the range is very varied and there are also several types of beers, whiskey or gins on the menu. P Gastro Bar is available for reservations every day and has a privileged location, in one of the most photographed streets in the city.
