Premiere of Marco Pontecorvo’s film ‘Fatima’ postponed to October

The debut of “Fátima”, with Harvey Keitel, Sónia Braga, Goran Visnjic and Lúcia Moniz in the cast, was announced for April 30, 2020, has been rescheduled for August 13 and now for October.

The film, which is inspired by the memories of Sister Lúcia, was shot in several Portuguese locations, namely in Coimbra, Mafra and Fátima, when Pope Francisco was in Portugal, in 2017, for the canonization of the shepherds Jacinta and Francisco Marto.

“Fátima” also has the participation of Ana Moreira, João Arrais, Joaquim de Almeida, Joana Ribeiro, Marco d’Almeida, Elmano Sancho, Carla Chambel, Simão Cayatte, among others.

The film discusses what was happening in Portugal in 1917 to create the context of the story and for people to see how children who were in the bush, without Internet, without social networks and without television, managed to gather in Fátima 70 thousand people in the last apparition to see the miracle of the sun.
