Literary Prize Revelation Agustina Bessa-Luís receives applications until the 31st
Estoril Sol revealed, this year, the contest for the Literary Award Revelation Augustina Bessa-Luís, despite the pandemic crisis of Covid-19 that continues to put challenges as complex to the country.
The reception of original works for the 14th edition of this premium in honor of the Great Writer, already expires on July 31, in accordance with the respective Regulation. The jury will be presided over by Guilherme D`oliveira Martins.
It is to underline that, Estoril Sol privileges, above all, the appearance of new values. For this reason, it has abolished, since 2016, the rule that imposed the 35-year-old limit for competitors, which allowed to streamline the premium regulation.
With the extinction of this standard considered restrictive, Estoril Sol corresponded to the requests expressed by numerous candidates who were unable to participate in the contest. However, the obligation of the concurrent novel be unpublished, and a Portuguese author, “without any work published in the gender.”
The literary premium revelation Agustina Bessa-Luís will be worth 10 thousand euros and, under the regulation, will be edited by Gradiva, which maintains a partnership with Estoril Sol, from the beginning of this project.
The jury, in addition to Guilherme D`oliveira Martins, who presides, in representation of the CNC – National Culture Center, still integrates José Manuel Mendes, by the Portuguese Association of Writers; Maria Carlos Gil Loureiro, by the General Directorate of the Book and Libraries; Manuel Frias Martins, by the Portuguese Association of Literary Critics; And still, Maria Alzira Peixo, José Carlos de Vasconcelos and Liberto Cruz, invited to individual title, in addition to Dinis de Abreu, representing Estoril Sol.
