Virgínia Quaresma Prize awarded to Eduardo Lourenço and Sara Maia
The University of Aveiro today revealed the winners of the Virgínia Quaresma International Cultural Studies Award, having awarded Eduardo Lourenço the Career Award.
Sara Vidal Maia was the other winner, with the Prize for Best Doctoral Thesis in Cultural Studies. Three doctoral theses signed by Lélian Silveira, Walter Chile and Catarina Laranjeiro were also distinguished, with honorable mentions.
Promoted by the University of Aveiro (UA), the International Award is supported by the International Network in Cultural Studies (RIEC) and the National Network in Cultural Studies (RNEC), with its first edition sponsored by the Center’s Regional Culture Directorate.
The award is given every two years in the two modalities ‘Career’, with a prize of 1,500 euros, and ‘Best Doctoral Thesis in Cultural Studies’, awarded with the edition and publication of the chosen thesis.
