Jorge Palma’s most recent original album, VIDA, is nominated for the 6th edition of the PLAY – Portuguese Music Awards in the “Best Album” category.
Released on April 28, 2023, VIDA entered directly into the top, being the best-selling Portuguese album in the first week, according to the Portuguese Fonographic Association. Twelve years after Com Todo o Respeito (2011), the musician and composer released VIDA, which features the band that accompanies Jorge Palma live – João Correia, Nuno Lucas, Pedro Vidal and Vicente Palma – but also Carlos Barretto, Flak, José Salgueiro, Júlio Pereira, Manuela Azevedo, Mário Barreiros, Mário Delgado, Paulo Gravato, Rão Kyao, Rui Reininho, Tomás Marques, Tomás Pimentel and Francisco Palma. The production was by Mário Barreiros.
The presentation single, “Vida”, continues to be one of the most applauded in the concerts that Jorge Palma has given – as a trio or with a band – across the country. The next concerts on the VIDA tour are scheduled for April 24th, in Barreiro, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25th and for the 27th at Teatro-Cine do Pombal.
Nominated for “Best Album”, VIDA is available in digital format, CD (standard edition) and special edition (last copies for sale exclusively online).
The PLAY – Portuguese Music Awards ceremony will take place on May 16th at the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, broadcast live on RTP1 and Antena1.
