Prime Video announces today that the three-episode documentary series Mr President – The Championship of a Life will premiere on March 15th.

The highly anticipated three-episode documentary series will be the latest addition to the Prime subscription. Amazon Prime subscribers in Portugal can enjoy offers, free shipping and entertainment, all in the same subscription for just €4.99 per month or €49.90 per year.

Produced in partnership with SPi and Futebol Clube do Porto (FCP), the documentary series is a never-before-seen portrait of Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, the always-provocative President of Futebol Clube do Porto. There are 86 years of a life of obstacles, which turned into victories, both on and off the field. For the first time, Pinto da Costa gave access to his privacy, in a first-person account, which also includes the participation of family, friends and many figures with whom he crossed paths during his long journey, namely José Mourinho, Florentino Peréz, Joan Laporta, Angel Gil, Futre, Madjer, Deco, Pepe or even the former President of the Republic Ramalho Eanes.

The documentary series will also feature important testimonies from well-known figures such as Iker Casillas, Vítor Baía, Herman José, Joana Marques, Fernando Santos, Rui Moreira, Valentim Loureiro or Rui Reininho.

The recording of the documentary series took place over a year, starting with the launch of the Photobiography of the President “Largos anos tem 14,600 dias”, on December 16, 2022, at Estádio do Dragão. Mr President – The Championship of a Life is a documentary written by Cristina Arvelos, also executive producer, and Pedro Lopes. The production is the responsibility of Bruno Pinhal and Paulo Menezes.

The documentary series joins Prime Video’s growing catalogue of Portuguese content, which includes series such as Morangos com Açúcar, Operação Maré Negra, Pôr do Sol, O Clube, Matilha, PRAXX, or documentaries such as Factory of Dreams: Benfica, Eu Amo o Benfica and Quintana: An Extraordinary Warrior.
