Prime Video reveals Negotiator premiere date

The crime thriller starring Malvino Salvador and Bárbara Reis premieres on July 21

Prime Video reveals the official poster and premiere date of the original Brazilian series Negotiator, which premieres on the platform on July 21st. Starring Malvino Salvador and Barbara Reis, the production also features César Mello, Emilio de Mello, and Guilherme Paiva in the cast.

In the series, Captain Gabriel Menck (Malvino Salvador) is a police negotiator and member of the Special Tactical Actions Group (GATE). Responsible for rescuing hostages targeted by criminals, Menck resolves complex crisis situations on the streets of São Paulo. The production follows the captain’s intense work as he goes through robberies that went wrong, passionate kidnappings, armed suicides, and prison riots – unpredictable cases full of human drama and difficult choices, where there are only two possible outcomes: life or death.

Menck returns to work after months away. After his wife’s death in an accident, the negotiator had to deal with post-traumatic stress in his son, who became mute from the shock of his mother’s death. In addition to the family issue, Menck will still have to deal with the revenge of former superior Bismark and an investigation that will place him as the main suspect in the death of his wife.

Directed by Isabel Valiante, Negotiator is produced by Zasha Robles and Gustavo Mello, from Spiral International and Boutique Filmes, respectively, and was created by Thiago Faelli, Gustavo Mello, and Thomas Stavros, who is also a screenwriter along with Gabriela Giffoni, José Guertzenstein, and Ronaldo Lasmar. Executive production is by Renata Artigas and Eduardo Piagge, with art direction by Marghe Pennacchi, photography direction by Pedro Maffei, casting direction by Renata Kalman, and original soundtrack by Lúcio Maia.
