Prime Video reveals the release date of original film Red One

Prime Video today reveals the release date of the original film, Red One: Secret Mission, directed by Jake Kasdan and starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans and Lucy Liu.

Red One: Secret Quest is available in theatres and, starting this Thursday, December 12, will be available on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide as part of the Prime subscription.

For the first time in history, the unthinkable happened: Santa’s legendary base (J.K. Simmons) at the North Pole was invaded and he was kidnapped. Callum Drift (Dwayne Johnson), commander of the E.L.F. and head of security for the Red One (Santa’s code name), joins Jack O’Malley (Chris Evans), the most prestigious bounty hunter and the person who accidentally revealed the secret location of Santa.

As the unlikely duo travel around the world to ensure that Santa returns home on time for his legendary gift delivery, they will face the most treacherous dangers of Christmas, from villains Krampus (Kristofer Hivju) and Grýla (Kiernan Shipka) a trio of sinister snowmen.

Red One is directed by Jake Kasdan and written by Chris Morgan, with the story of Hiram Garcia. The cast is composed of Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, Wesley Kimmel and J.K. Simmons.
