Prime Video reveals the premiere date and official trailer for the second season of Operação Maré Negra

Prime Video today unveils the trailer for the ambitious second season of Operation Maré Negra, which will premiere exclusively on February 10 in Portugal, Spain, and Brazil.

Filmed in Galicia and Portugal, the new season takes place two years after the end of the first. Accompanying Nando in prison as the center and heart of the story, the new episodes will navigate the fragile balance between crime and law, family revenge and justice. Nando will embark on a journey full of betrayals and double games and will walk through the fragile balance between legal and illegal: drug traffickers vs. police.

The new cast includes leading national and international actors such as Jorge López (Élite), Oscar Jaenada (Hernán,), Esther Acebo (La casa de papel), Soraia Chaves (Sequia), and Pêpê Rapazote (Narcos), who join Nerea Barros (Terras Pantanosas), Leandro Firmino (City of God), Carles Francino (As Telefonistas), Luis Zahera (El Reino) and Bruno Gagliasso (Marighella), among others.

The second season of Operation Maré Negra will feature five 45-minute episodes produced by Ficción Producciones (Operação Maré Negra T1, 3 Caminos), with Mamen Quintas and Julio Casal once again serving as executive producers alongside Daniel Calparsoro. In Portugal, RTP through Lightbox will have Luis Ismael as executive producer. The directing team once again includes the acclaimed Oskar Santos and Daniel Calparsoro, who are joined by Igor Legarreta (Autómata, Ilargi Guztiak). The script team for the second season now includes Jose Rodríguez (Adiós, The Plague), together with Patxi Amezcua (Sem Limites, Séptimo) and Natxo López (Perdida, Charonte, Viver sem Permissão).

It should be noted that on January 13th, it also premiered exclusively on Prime Video Destino Operation Maré Negra, an extra behind-the-scenes episode where the directors and protagonists opened the doors of the second season of Operation Maré Negra and tell how they prepared to continue Nando’s story. This episode serves as the bridge between the two seasons and explores the filmmaking process of a hit series, with dynamic interviews, footage from the shoot, and in-between takes that show the journey from the inside.

The second season of Black Tide will join thousands of TV shows and movies in Prime Video’s catalog, including original series like Clarkson’s Farm, Good Omens, and The Grand Tour; hit films like Coming 2 America, Golden Globe winner and Academy nominee Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Golden Globe and Academy nominated films One Night in Miami and Sound of Metal; as well as award-winning and critically acclaimed original series such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Boys, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Homecoming, The Wheel of Time, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, all available at no extra cost to Prime members.
