Prime Video reveals the first images and cast of Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina
Directed by Andrés Baiz, known as Narcos and Griselda, the film features Grammy®-winning artist Juanes, who makes his acting debut alongside Alberto Guerra, Alejandro Speitzer and Laura Osma.
Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina will be part of the official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival, with a world premiere on September 9th and will premiere on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world later in the year.
Prime Video today reveals the first images and cast of Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina, directed by acclaimed Colombian filmmaker Andrés Baiz (Griselda, Narcos, La cara hidden), who returns triumphantly to the big screen after a successful career directing series international. Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina explores the powerful and universal themes of borders and family ties, making it a must-see film for audiences around the world. The famous cast is made up of Alberto Guerra (Griselda), Alejandro Speitzer (La Cabeza de Joaquín Murrieta), Laura Osma (Goles en contra) and the artist Juanes, winner of several Grammy® awards.
Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina has been officially selected to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival, with its world premiere on September 9th. The film is part of Centrepiece’s international programming at TIFF and will premiere on Prime Video later this year.
Pimpinero: Sangre y Gasolina is set on the desert border between Colombia and Venezuela, where gasoline smugglers known as “pimpineros” risk their lives transporting illegal fuel from one country to another. When Juan, the youngest of a clan of three brothers involved in this dangerous business, is forced to work for a sinister rival, the dark side of the business is exposed to tragic consequences. Determined to uncover the horrible secrets that shroud this no man’s land, Juan’s girlfriend, Diana, embarks on a mission to uncover the truth.

The film is produced by the production company Dynamo. It is written by María Camila Arias (Pájaros de verano) and directed, written and executive produced by Andrés Baiz (Griselda, Narcos, La Cara Oculta). The production team includes Andrés Calderón (La Cabeza de Joaquin Murrieta, Narcos) as producer and Cyndi Rojas (Milla 22) as assistant producer.
