Prime Video Reveals the Explosive Official Trailer for Gen V Season 2
with New Features at San Diego Comic-Con
The highly anticipated series from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios premieres September 17th with new Supers, extraordinary powers, and surprising cameos from the universe of The Boys.
Last Friday at San Diego Comic-Con, fans packed the Gen V panel when Prime Video revealed the official trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the Emmy-winning spin-off from the universe of The Boys. The new season of Gen V features important events and revelations that will directly impact the final season of The Boys. The first three episodes premiere September 17th, exclusively on Prime Video, in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
Cast members Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Hamish Linklater, and showrunner Michele Fazekas participated in the panel, moderated by a beloved fan, P.J. Byrne.
The panel kicked off with a surprise appearance by Deep, a member of The Seven and Godolkin University alumnus, played by Chace Crawford, who returns as a guest star in the second season of Gen V.
The official trailer for the second season previews fan-favourite characters, surprising cameos from The Boys universe, Ethan Slater (Wicked) as a new cast member playing Thomas Godolkin, and more unexpected revelations. Sean Patrick Thomas (Till), who plays Polarity, becomes a recurring character in the new season.
Slater is best known for his role as “Boq” in the Oscar-winning film Wicked and his SAG (Screen Actors Guild) and Tony Award nominations for his lead role in the Broadway musical SpongeBob SquarePants. Her work has also been recognised for her appearances in Spamalot and will appear in CBS’s Elsbeth.
In the second season, a new course takes effect. While the rest of America adjusts to Homelander’s iron fist at Godolkin University, the mysterious new headmaster promotes a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated as heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, weighing months of trauma and loss. But worrying about parties and classes becomes an uphill struggle as a war between humans and superhumans erupts both on and off campus. The group discovers the existence of a secret program dating back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have far greater implications than they imagined. And somehow, Marie is part of it.
The second season stars Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. Hamish Linklater also joins the cast as Dean Cipher in the new season.
Michele Fazekas serves as showrunner and executive producer. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, Ori Marmur, Thomas Schnauz, Steve Boyum and Brant Englestein also serve as executive producers. Loreli Alanís, Gabriel Garcia and Jessica Chou serve as co-executive producers.
