Prime Video reveals today the first images of the British series Wilderness. The series is written and created by Marnie Dickens, nominated for the BAFTA Breakthrough in 2016, and based on the novel of the same name by B.E. Jones. Wilderness is a love story where an unexpected turn of events turns a dream vacation and supposedly “happily ever after” into a nightmare.
The series tells the story of the couple, Liv (Jenna Coleman) and Will (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), who at first glance have everything to work out: a solid marriage, a new and glamorous life in New York and a promising future ahead. . Until Liv discovers an infidelity. And spite is quickly followed by another emotion: fury. Thus, the couple embarks on a road trip across the United States that Liv has fantasized about since childhood, from Monument Valley to the Grand Canyon, passing through Yosemite, and culminating in a weekend of pleasure in Las Vegas. While for Will the trip becomes an opportunity to make amends, for Liv, the perspective is quite different: a script where accidents happen constantly. A perfect place for revenge.
While staying in America’s epic national parks, the couple meets Will’s partner, Cara (Ashley Benson), a young American woman with a glittering career and adoring boyfriend, Garth (Eric Balfour). Liv’s best plans fall apart, and as the four of them come together, Cara and Garth become involved in Will and Liv’s lives in a way that will change the course of their futures forever.
Wilderness is a very feminine psychological thriller created by Marnie Dickens, based on the novel by B.E. Jones, directed by So Yong Kim, and executive produced by Elizabeth Kilgarriff. The series premieres this fall on Prime Video globally.
