This summer something is going to happen in the beyond! Good Omens Season 2 premieres July 28 on Prime Video. After the global success and enthusiastic reception of the first season, co-creator Neil Gaiman will satisfy fans’ hunger for more adventures of the unusual duo in a completely original story. The premiere date for the second season turns out to be the 33rd anniversary of the publication of the book Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Gaiman, which served as inspiration for the first season of the television series.

To celebrate, Gaiman collaborated with The Hillywood Show superfans Hilly and Hannah Hindi to reveal the premiere date in a fan-funded video, Good Omens Paradoy, which can be seen here. The six episodes will air exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories around the world, and fans can enjoy the first season on the service.

The new season will explore stories that aren’t in the source material to highlight the quirky friendship between Aziraphale, a demanding angel and rare book winner, and the evil demon, Crowley. Having been on Earth since the beginning and the apocalypse having failed, Aziraphale and Crowley return to a quiet life among mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a startling mystery.

The second season of Good Omens stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant, who gives life to the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley respectively. Also returning is Jon Hamm as the Archangel Gabriel, Doon Mackichan as the Archangel Michael, and Gloria Obianyo as the Archangel Uriel. In addition, Miranda Richardson as the demon Shax, Maggie Service as Maggie, and Nina Sosanya as Nina return in new roles, in addition to new faces from Heaven and Hell. Liz Carr as the angel Saraqael, Quelin Sepulveda as the angel Muriel and Shelley Conn as the demon Beelzebub.

Gaiman remains executive producer and will serve as showrunner on the series with executive producer Douglas Mackinnon, who will also return to direct all six episodes. Rob Wilkins of Narrativia, representing the legacy of Terry Pratchett, John Finnemore, and Josh Cole, Head of Comedy Productions at BBC Studios, will also executive produce. Additionally, Finnemore will co-write with Gaiman. Good Omens is based on the bestseller of the same name written by Pratchett and Gaiman. The new season is produced by Amazon Studios, BBC Studios Productions, The Blank Corporation, and Narrative.
