Spain, the year 2024. Pilar is a young princess and future queen of Spain who suddenly and hastily finds herself forced to lead the monarchical institution after a scandal involving her father, King Afonso XIV, had kept him out of public view for a few months. Pilar has to prove to the country that she is not the irresponsible, insolent, lazy and useless woman that everyone thinks she is. The problem is that in a way they are right.
The teaser poster features Princess Pilar (Anna Castillo) in her royal portrait, inspired by Velázquez’s royal horse portraits at the Prado Museum. The protagonist wears a couture design consisting of a Christian Dior skirt by Gianfranco Ferré, an iconic vintage mesh body by Gianni Versace and a metallic belt by Fendi, which fits perfectly to the armour that completes the look. It also presents an exquisite selection of jewels donated by the Costume Museum, carefully chosen for this portrait, among which are pieces that belonged to Queen Victoria Eugenie de Battemberg in 1923.
Borja Cobeaga and Diego San José are the creators of the series, who form the team of writers with the writer and screenwriter José Antonio Pérez Ledo (Órbita Laika, Ovejas eléctricas, Caminantes). The filmmaker Ginesta Guindal (Elite, Vida Perfecta, El Vecino) appears as a director alongside Cobeaga. Among the executive producers are Laura Fdez Espeso, Alejandro Flórez, Javier Méndez and Diego San José from MEDIAPRO studio, and Nahikari Ipiña and Borja Cobeaga from Sayaka Producciones.
