Jorge López, Óscar Jaenada, Esther Acebo, Patricia Vico, Luis Zahera and Bruno Gagliasso, among others, star in the second season of the series that will debut exclusively on Prime Video in Portugal, Spain and Brazil in 2023
Prime Video reveals the first images of the ambitious second season of Operation Maré Negra. Filmed in Galicia and Portugal, the new season takes place two years after the end of the first. Accompanying Nando in prison as the center and heart of the story, the new episodes will navigate the fragile balance between crime and law, family revenge and justice. Nando will embark on a journey full of betrayals and double games and will walk through the fragile balance between legal and illegal: drug traffickers vs. police.
The new cast includes leading actors such as Jorge López (Élite, Now and Then), Oscar Jaenada (Hernán, Awareness), Esther Acebo (La casa de papel, La casa de tiza), Soraia Chaves (Sequia, Linhas de sangre) Patricia Vico (Hasta el cielo, Cien años de perdón), Belén López (White Lines, Adú), Miguel de Lira (Liver without permission, Matadero), Pêpê Rapazote (Narcos, Queen of the South), Melania Cruz (Dhogs), Diego Anido (As Beasts), Daniel Ibañez (Terminator) and Milo Taboada (Fãrina). Leandro Firmino (City of God), Nerea Barros (Swampy Lands), Carles Francino (The Operators), Miquel Insua (The Unity), Xosé Barato (Alba), Luis Zahera (El Reino), Bruno Gagliasso (Marighella) and Manuel Manquiña (Antes de la quema), resume their respective roles in the second season of the series. The second season, filmed in different locations in Galicia and Portugal, will premiere in 2023 exclusively on Prime Video in Portugal, Spain and Brazil.
The new season of Operation Maré Negra will feature five 45-minute episodes produced by Ficción Producciones (Operação Maré Negra T1, 3 Caminos), with Mamen Quintas and Julio Casal who are once again executive producers together with Daniel Calparsoro and the Spanish autonomous televisions. In Portugal, RTP through Lightbox, will have Luis Ismael as executive producer. The directing team once again includes the acclaimed Oskar Santos and Daniel Calparsoro, who are joined by Igor Legarreta (Autómata, Ilargi Guztiak). The script team for the second season now includes Jose Rodríguez (Adiós, The Plague), together with Patxi Amezcua (Sem Limites, Séptimo) and Natxo López (Perdida, Charonte, Viver sem Permissão).
