Fortera says construction investment amounts to €11.5m
The Fortera group will start in February with the construction of the Azul Boutique Hotel, in Vila Nova de Gaia, an investment in the development of €11.5M and which will be completed in 2023.
The new 4-star hotel, 50 meters from Ponte D. Luis I, on Rua General Torres, will have 64 rooms overlooking the Douro River, as well as a restaurant, terrace and solarium with a swimming pool on the 4th floor, making up a total area of 4200m2.
Thanks to its privileged location, in one of the most beautiful points of Porto and Gaia, guests of the Azul Boutique Hotel can enjoy breathtaking views over the city of Porto, the Douro, the wineries, the Ribeira and the D. Luis I bridge.
“We took advantage of this location to bring the landscape to almost all of the rooms. The catering area and solarium also take advantage of this landscape with completely unobstructed views”, explains Hélder Agostinho, the project’s architect and real estate manager.
The Fortera group even adds that this is the most promising project that Porto and Gaia have ever seen.
“Despite the difficult pandemic situation for the tourism sector, the coming months should allow us to gather good conditions to make more consolidated perspectives, which also leads us to believe that we are predicting this opening for a moment of frank recovery of the sector, with Porto and Gaia, it once again presented itself as important centres of tourist demand in Portugal”, concludes Elad Dror, CEO of the Fortera group.
