Project of the Municipality of Odivelas “Umas Férias em Português” helps the inclusion of foreign students
The weeks of activities “Umas Férias em Português” (“A vacations in Portuguese”), at the Basic School of Olival Basto and Basic School Carlos Paredes, had the participation of 31 children from the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education of the public network. from Odivelas, mainly from Pakistan and India.
The objectives of this project are based on the educational and social integration of foreign students, and result from a partnership with the Pedro Alexandrino School Group, in Póvoa de Santo Adrião, in collaboration with the Municipality of Odivelas.
The aforementioned action “Umas Férias em Português” aims, simultaneously, at the development and reinforcement of the learning of the host language, through playful and motivating activities, such as songs, educational and educational games, traditional Portuguese games, conversation techniques, among others .
This initiative, part of the Inclusiv@ Transcultural Competencies Project, is part of the Municipal Plan for the Integration of Migrants in Odivelas (PMIM), co-financed by the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration.
