Promotional film of the Center of Portugal awarded in American festival
The new Turismo Centro promotional film won another international award at the US International Film & Video Festival in Los Angeles today.
Entitled ‘Are You Ready?’ the film has the participation of surfer Garrett McNamara, and has been collecting prizes since being presented at the BTL (Tourism Exchange of Lisbon) on March 14.
In May, he won two awards: Best Film in the category ‘Tourist Destinations – Region’ at the 12th International Tourism Film Festival ‘TourFilm Riga’ in Latvia; and ‘Best Production Design’ at the Terres Festival in Tortosa, Spain.
In California, he was honored by the jury with a Certificate of Creative Excellence and was considered one of the top three films in the ‘Tourism Films’ category, competing with more than 1,000 films from 23 countries.
“The prizes won by the films of the Center of Portugal reinforce the positioning of the Centro de Portugal brand, nationally and internationally, and demonstrate that the promotion strategy followed is the most correct,” says the president of the Regional Entity, which groups a hundred municipalities.
Pedro Machado adds that “the fact that this distinction has now taken place in the United States is of great importance given that the US market has great potential for growth in the Central region.”
Produced by Slideshow, the film records more than 330 thousand views on the Facebook page of Turismo Centro. “It is a promotional film with an innovative concept: the visitor becomes the character of a game in the magnificent territory of the Center of Portugal and aims to reach the giant wave of Nazaré, where is expected by surfer Garrett McNamara,” summarizes Machado.
