The biggest international technology conference returned to Lisbon, with Prosegur, global leader in its sector, guaranteeing the security of the event.
This was the fifth edition of the Web Summit held in partnership with Prosegur, which demonstrates the organization’s high confidence in the Company.
With 40 years in the Portuguese market, Prosegur has vast experience in large-scale and highly complex events, in addition to a deep knowledge of the security sector, being, therefore, a strategic ally to create value and ensure the success of any event.
This year, the Web Summit organization expected to receive more than 40,000 participants and the Prosegur team had the added responsibility of ensuring that all participants have digital certificates, mandatory for participation, as well as surveillance and access control to the FIL (Fair). Internacional de Lisboa), one of the venues where the conference was held, in parallel with the Altice Arena.
For this purpose, Prosegur had a team of 200 professionals, from different companies of the multinational, during the four days of the event. This is the largest number of employees ever that the company has integrated into the Web Summit, in order to respond to the new requirements and protocols resulting from the pandemic.
“Portugal is one of the main international references in the field of vaccination against Covid-19, so, given this frankly positive result, it is normal that large-scale events, such as the Web Summit, return with less and less restrictions. In this new phase, these events will assume extreme importance for the recovery of the country’s economic, business and cultural fabric”, says Gonçalo Morgado, General Director of Prosegur Security. “However, since the pandemic has not been eradicated, the importance of ensuring compliance with health protocols and requirements will remain,” he adds. “Prosegur is prepared to redouble its efforts and respond to the new paradigms faced by the large events sector, seeking to guarantee that these take place without incidents and that all extraordinary standards are respected”.
The event also had an operational control center, which includes, at the same time, members of the organization, police authorities and security companies present, to ensure the proper coordination of the teams involved and the implementation of established protocols.
The Web Summit 2021 ran until November 4th, in Lisbon, being one of the most important world events of technology, entrepreneurship and innovation, and counting on a diversified and international list of speakers. The conference was founded by entrepreneur Paddy Cosgrave in 2009 and has been held in Portugal since 2016.
