Qatar Airways creates simplified and flexible fare types for passengers

Qatar Airways has launched new types of simplified fares, in all classes, that offer better choices and flexibility to passengers. As of today, the airline will offer a total of six fare families.

Each of the new options offers passengers a clear and distinct set of products and services designed to meet all their needs. For example, passengers booking Economy Class tickets can carry five extra kilos of checked baggage, for each incremental fare in the same fare family.

Whoever chooses to buy a ticket in Economy Class Comfort can enjoy preferential seats, courtesy of the air carrier. Customers who buy Comfort Economy or Business Elite tickets can make unlimited changes to their trip or request a refund, without being charged any fees. In all classes, Qatar Airways Privilege Club members can earn more Qmiles, according to the fare family they purchase.

The Chief Executive of the Qatar Airways Group, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, says: “Our new fare types are designed to offer more simplicity, choice and flexibility to our passengers and are part of our ambition to offer the best experience in each class.

With these new categorizations, it’s very clear to the customer what they’re buying – there are no hidden fees or additional charges. We are also giving Privilege Club members the opportunity to earn more Qmiles and unlock additional benefits or tier upgrades. “

Qatar Airways has reserved a series of products and services in each type of fare for passengers who choose to book directly with the company. Some of the perks are the option to exchange tickets for a future travel voucher, discounts of up to 40% on Qatar Duty Free (QDF) and restaurants at Hamad International Airport (HIA).

Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Airline’ by the 2019 World Airline Awards, managed by the international organization Skytrax. It was also designated “Best Airline in the Middle East”, “Best Business Class in the World”, and “Best Seat in Business Class“, in recognition of its pioneering experience in Business Class, Qsuite.

It is the only airline awarded five times with the desired title of ‘Skytrax Airline of the Year’, the pinnacle of excellence in the airline industry. The Qatar Airways hub, Hamad International Airport, was recently rated “Best Airport in the Middle East” and “Third Best Airport in the World” by the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2020.
