The Qatar Airways Privilege Club has reduced the number of Qmiles required to book award tickets by up to 49%, with the ultimate goal of providing more and better rewards to all its members.
Privilege Club Qmiles requirements will be reduced to award tickets for all members traveling with Qatar Airways on connecting flights through the Middle East’s Best Airport, Hamad International Airport (HIA), as well as anyone traveling to or from Doha, from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
Privilege Club members who book tickets with flexible miles – which require twice as many Qmiles as award tickets – will also benefit from these reductions. Members can use the Privilege Club Qcalculator to find out the number of Qmiles required on their routes and choice of classes.
Under this new policy, in Business Class, the return tickets from São Paulo (GRU) to Tokyo (HND) reduce 49%, from 391,000 to 200,000 Qmiles; from Auckland (AKL) to Los Angeles (LAX) 45% from 434,000 to 240,000; from Paris (CDG) to Bangkok (BKK) 40% from 251,000 to 150,000 and from Doha (DOH) to London (LHR) 26% from 116,000 to 86,000. In Economy Class, return flights from Mumbai (BOM) to New York (JFK) are reduced by 39%, from 131,500 to 80,000 Qmiles.
Qatar Airways CCO, Mr. Thierry Antinori, said: “Qmiles now take us further whenever they travel with us on medium, long and ultra-long duration flights. These advantages were produced in an important effort to ensure that our members of the Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club are widely rewarded for their loyalty.
This step is part of a broader transformation of our loyalty program, which this year saw a number of improvements – with more exciting changes to be presented in the coming months. Our goal is to establish and consolidate ourselves as the main airline loyalty program in the Middle East and among the best in the world”.
Earlier this year, the Qatar Airways Privilege Club revised its Qmiles policy to offer greater flexibility – when a member earns or spends Qmiles, their balance is now valid for 36 months.
In addition, the Privilege Club recently removed booking fees for award tickets. Members who book award tickets in Business Class will continue to receive free lounge access – including the Al Mourjan Business Class Lounge at HIA – and seat allocation.
Privilege Club members will continue to earn Qmiles when traveling with Qatar Airways, oneworld® airlines, or any of the partner airlines. It is also possible to purchase Qmiles using credit cards from Qatar Airways and when shopping with Privilege Club partners and experience partners.
Qmiles can be redeemed for a number of interesting benefits, including award tickets, upgrades or extra luggage, purchases on Qatar Duty Free, as well as flights and hotel stays with partners.
The Qatar Airways Privilege Club is the Official Frequent Flyer Program for the FIFA Football World Cup Qatar 2022™ and recently won the Frequent Flyer award for “Best Rewards Program” in the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania regions for 2020.
