Qatar Airways receives Diamond Standard status

Qatar Airways is proud to announce that it has achieved the Diamond Standard of the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) for Health Safety, by SimpliFlying.

The ‘Diamond Standard’ status, which is the highest level to be achieved, was announced by APEX and the global aviation marketing consultancy, SimpliFlying, after a meticulous assessment of the airline’s stringent hygiene and safety standards COVID-19.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “As an industry leader, we welcome the greatest recognition of Qatar Airways’ commitment to providing the most rigorous monitoring, detection and security program COVID-19, in all our end-to-end experience with our passengers, existing in the global aviation community.

“The award of the APEX Health Safety ‘Diamond Standard’ was the result of an independent, complete and extensive audit of the comprehensive COVID-19 protection and prevention measures, both on board and at Hamad International Airport, and reinforces the fact that air travel need not be a source of concern for passengers.

“As commercial aviation continues to address the challenges and impact of the global pandemic, we welcome the introduction of this and other relevant health and safety reviews related to COVID, and encourage other airlines to continue to build passenger and airline confidence. to help in the recovery of the industry, participating whenever possible”.

APEX Executive Director Dr. Joe Leader said: “Qatar Airways’ COVID-19 protocols definitely met the highest ratings for the Diamond certification level, supported by their extraordinary customer safety procedures. Actions taken by Qatar seems centered around a unique philosophy: how can we innovate to maximize both our customer service and the safety of passengers, hand in hand.

“Having recently flown with my family on Qatar Airways to the Maldives after negative PCVID COVID-19 tests, the level of service security, both in flight and on land, exceeded my highest expectations and even surpassed our best experience in the airline’s pre-pandemic”.

SimpliFlying Chief Executive, Mr Shashank Nigam, said: “Qatar Airways has raised the bar on health safety standards in the industry through initiatives such as providing a face shield to all passengers using Honeywell’s UV disinfection systems. and advanced biosafety measures at its hub in Doha.
