Quatro Paredes the new album by Stereossauro and Dj Ride
Quatro Paredes is the title of the new EP by Beatbombers, which celebrates the centenary of the greatest master of Portuguese guitar, Carlos Paredes.
Stereossauro and Dj Ride are also masters of sampling and confessed admirers of Carlos Paredes’ music, and since their already legendary version of “Verdes Anos” they have wanted to work again with compositions by the master Paredes, having obtained permission from the guitarist’s family to celebrate this important date with four new songs.
The unique sound of the melodies and textures of the Portuguese guitar are cut and re-imagined by the precise and experienced hands of the DJ duo and intertwined with their production with several layers of synthesizers and drums, resulting in a delicate balance between moments of ethereal beauty and emotional tension.
The cover was designed by Carlos Quitério, from Caldas da Rainha and a long-time friend of the producers, who, in the same way that the Beatbombers sampled Paredes to make this EP, also based himself on an iconic photograph of the master to create an illustration of organic motifs.
An instrumental journey in four movements with a presentation concert in Coimbra, Carlos Paredes’ hometown, on April 25th, a very special date to celebrate the centenary of the Master of the Portuguese Guitar.
