Reissue will also be available in other formats:
1LP, 1CD, 2CDs (Deluxe edition), 1LP Picture Disc, and on cassette

The revolutionary debut album by Queen, Queen (1973), has been remixed, remastered, and expanded in a special edition, Queen I Collector’s Edition, scheduled for release on October 25.

This new version will be available in a box set with 6 CDs + 1 LP, containing 63 tracks, including 43 new mixes. The release also includes versions on a single LP, single CD, deluxe edition with 2 CDs, picture disc, and cassette.

The album has been restored by Justin Shirley-Smith, Joshua J Macrae, and Kris Fredriksson, offering the version that the band always wanted fans to hear. For the first time, a Queen album has received a new stereo mix. The song “Mad the Swine,” which was left off the original 1973 version, has been restored to its original position on the album.

Brian May emphasized: “This is not just a remastering, but a complete reconstruction of Queen’s debut album. With the possibilities of current technology, we were able to achieve the sound we wanted in 1973.” Additionally, a 108-page book with handwritten lyrics and memorabilia will accompany the special box.

The first single from this reissue is “The Night Comes Down,” which will be available as part of the physical and digital release. This song, like others from the album, was originally recorded during night sessions at Trident Studios in London, a studio used by artists such as Elton John and The Beatles.

In addition to the original album, the box offers previously unreleased materials, including rare live recordings and restored demos from 1971 and 1972, recorded at De Lane Lea Studios, where Queen recorded five tracks that capture the band’s innovative spirit.

Roger Taylor recalls the early years of the band: “We were broke but full of energy and self-belief.” Brian May adds: “We wanted everything to sound like it was right in people’s faces, and we fought to achieve that.”

The box also includes live performance recordings from 1974 and unreleased tracks such as “Hangman,” which was never recorded in the studio. With this release, Queen provides a unique opportunity to relive their journey from the early days to becoming one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
