Who Killed My Father by Édouard Louis at CCB
CCB, January 24th to 26th at Black Box, Friday at 8:00 pm, Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 5:00 pm
Édouard Louis returns to the place where he was born to visit his father: a town in one of the poorest regions of France.
In his father’s house, what was once a man who expressed his virility through violence and who oppressed his intelligent and docile son, finds a body in his fifties, who can barely walk and breathe.
Who Killed My Father is a moving account of the reunion between the author and his father, of the memory of a childhood characterized by pain and damaged by poverty, shame and homophobia, and the accusation of political power for the abandonment of the lower classes of society.
