Located in the Vinhos Verdes region, sub-region of Baião, Quinta de Santa Teresa, owned by the producer A&D Wines, has just presented the new harvest of its white tanning: Quinta de Santa Teresa Curtimenta Avesso 2022.
Quinta de Santa Teresa Curtimenta Avesso is a white tanning wine, which is included in the orange wine category, an increasingly consolidated trend in the market. Fermentation in the presence of grape skins, contrary to what is usual in the fermentation of white wines, gives this wine an amber hue and greater tannin structure, in this distinctive interpretation of the Avesso variety.
The 2022 vintage of Quinta de Santa Teresa Avesso Curtimenta presents an expressive nose with aromas of dried fruit, dried oregano, and tea leaves.
On the palate, it surprises by bringing together the typical rusticity of the astringency of the tannins with a soft and enveloping mouth, resulting in a very pleasant combination, with notes of dried fruits, laurel, and loquats. This is an ideal wine to pair with well-cooked fish, white or game meats, as well as any cuisine rich in spices such as Indian or Thai.
