Rallye das Camelias returns to the roads of Sintra
On the 3rd and 4th of March, the roads of Sintra receive the already mythical Rallye das Camélias, one of the oldest on the national calendar and which already has 77 registered teams.
On March 3, the night session takes place, between 7 pm and 11 pm, with a double ticket on the Lagoa Azul – Peninha route. On the 4th of March, between 9:00 am and 11:00 am, the Largo Ferreira de Castro – Pé da Serra route takes place.
The 2023 edition of the Rallye das Camélias will have identical characteristics to the race held last year, covering the municipalities of Sintra, Cascais, and Mafra.
In the 2022 edition, the Rallye das Camélias enshrined the duo Rui Madeira and Nuno Silva. Also worthy of note is the performance of the Sintra pilot Paulo Neto and the navigator Vitor Hugo and the Sintrense duo Gil Antunes/Alexandre Ramos, who finished in 2nd and 5th place, respectively.
The realization of the Camellias Rally will cause some traffic constraints, which you should pay attention to:
• On March 3, between 19:00 and 00:00, the road from Lagoa Azul to Malveira and the crossing from Peninha to Azoia will be closed to traffic;
• On March 4th, between 8:00 am and 11:30 am, Largo Ferreira de Castro, Estrada da Pena, Estrada dos Capuchos and Pé da Serra will also remain closed to traffic.
