Ramón Galarza’s Band presents the new album ”Qu’est-qui se passe?”

Ramón Galarza’s Band closes the year 2021 in a big way with the new album “Qu’est-qui se Passe”: the culmination of work done during the pandemic, from which 3 singles have already been released: “Reflexions”, “Dr. Spencer” and “Inspiration”.

The new album by the band of musician and producer Ramón Galarza presents a sound inspired by Jazz/Fusion, with an approach to World Music.

The Ramón Galarza’s Band is made up of renowned musicians: Bernardo Fesch on bass and choirs, António Mão de Ferro on guitar and vocals, Diogo Santos on piano, synthesizers and accordion, Moisés Fernandes on trumpet, flugel and choirs, and the Japanese Ryoko Imai in Marimbas and percussion. Ramón Galarza is responsible for the drums, percussion, programming and choirs.

Ramón Galarza has a career spanning over 40 years in the Portuguese music scene: the musician studied piano, percussion, solfeggio and harmony and started his musical career in 1976, as a drummer in several musical groups, and as a studio musician, having collaborated with several names in national music.

 

In 1980 he was one of the elements of Banda Sonora, played with Rui Veloso, having participated in the albums “Ar de Rock“, “Um café e um bagaço” and “Fora de Moda“, among others.

From 1983, he dedicated himself to music production and, as an orchestrator, participated in various festivals, such as RTP da Canção, with the Doce, and also in events in Bulgaria, Malta, Spain, United States, Turkey, Paraguay and Brazil.

In 1986, he founded the recording studios Tchatchatcha, where they have already recorded several names in national music such as Jorge Palma, Xutos, Fausto, Sérgio Godinho, Ena Pá 2000, UHF, among many others.

Ramón Galarza worked with Herman José as music director and drummer at Tal Canal/Hermanias.

As a producer for RTP, he participated in several Eurovision festivals and was the producer and musical director of the television series “Rua Sésamo“, “Em Português nos entendemos“, “Jardim da Celeste“, among others.

Disney Classics” and “A Story a Day” were other of his productions, in this case for Disney.

In 1988, he worked with Xutos e Pontapés, with whom he co-produced the albums “88“, “Grito Mudos” and the singles “Submissão” and “Tuai“, having played as keyboardist for the band for two years.

Ramón Galarza has worked, among others, with Rão Kyao, Rui Veloso, Banda do Casaco, Doce, Afonsinhos do Condado, Carlos Paião, Dulce Pontes, Rita Guerra, Beto, Marco Paulo, Blind Zero, António Pinto Basto and Adelaide Ferreira, Gato Fedorento and Berg.

Galarza signs the incidental soundtracks of the telenovelas “Último Beijo“, “Joia de África“, “Saber Amar“, “Amanhecer“, “Coração Malandro“, “Morangos com Açúcar” and “Queridas Feras“.

In 2009 he edited his first solo album, “Herr G-51.11“, which he continued, in 2018, with the album “GALARZA“, signed by his group Ramón Galarza’s Band.
