Monte do Faro Ramp with Night Special and Many “Maquinões”

The Ramp of Monte do Faro is back in Valença, on the weekend of June 24th and 25th, this year, with a night special and many classic “machinões” in this mythical revival of motor sport.

The public presentation took place at Praça da República, in Fortaleza, with the presence of the Mayor, Councilor for Sports, representatives of the Viana Motor Clube and a whole range of entities and partners of this event.

For the Mayor, José Manuel Carpinteira, “Valença wants to consolidate and enshrine this race which has all the conditions to be the great reference of motor sport in Alto Minho. The event is a dynamic and attractive factor for Valença, with a great impact on the sporting, social and economic life of the municipality”.

Two days full of emotions and a lot of adrenaline are expected, accompanying the climbs, during the day, to Monte do Faro, the night special and enjoying the debut of the machines on Avenida Miguel Dantas, in the heart of the city’s central area.

The big news of this edition is the night special, eagerly awaited by drivers and the public and which promises a great show given the characteristics of the track and the good places to watch the race.

The event has a tourist character for classic cars, pre-classic sports cars, modern sports cars and competition cars, without any type of competition or timing. The presence of emblematic models from Aston Martin, Maserati, Subaru and Ferrari is expected, as well as many Fiat 600, from the national Fiat 600 Portugal meeting that will be held in Valença on the 24th.

After the success of the 2022 edition, with the fantastic participation of 405 vehicles, among the various Rampa activities, Valença wants to consolidate and reinforce the importance of this event for the city, attracting a number of machines that are rare to see on the roads and that will be divided by the different series.

50 years after the mythical event of 1973 and 57 years after the first edition of 1966, Valença bets on this emblematic event in a revival format.

The event is organized by V.M.C.-Viana Motor Clube in partnership with the Municipality of Valença within the scope of the annual calendar of Eurocity Tui Valença  and will also have the collaboration of the National Republican Guard, Volunteer Firefighters of Valença, among other entities and the sponsorship of the local and regional business community.
