Raquel Tavares releases new album “Deles Por Mim (e à moda antiga)”
Raquel Tavares Show December 5th at Coliseu dos Recreios
Raquel Tavares returns with a new full-length album, eight years after her last one. “Deles Por Mim (e à moda antiga)” is available on all platforms now.
“Deles Por Mim (e à moda antiga)” is a fado album. It doesn’t pretend to be anything more than that. Fados, in their most traditional form, accompanied by Portuguese guitar, viola, and bass, by musicians who have been part of Raquel Tavares’ journey in fado, on albums, and on the road.

Recorded in direct takes, meaning musicians and voice simultaneously, without cuts or corrections. Therefore, it has the rawness and imperfections that this method entails, but it’s a return to a very specific way of recording fado on record.
The repertoire, perhaps, isn’t the most predictable, considering it’s a woman singing poetry intended for men. Poetry that, above all, recounts men’s love for women, with all that it entails: passion, jealousy, enchantment, possession, spite, and even betrayal.
“Women, in their entirety, have always been one of the greatest sources of inspiration for writers, with poetic images that only women could create, and from there were born some of the greatest classics in the history of fado, with sublime interpretations that challenged me. But those with whom I learned to sing fado would say: – You can’t sing that one, because it’s a man’s fado. – But I just wanted to savour the verses… The moment I decided to record another album, I knew right away that this was what I wanted to do, almost in a daring ‘now I can’,” says Raquel Tavares about the inspiration and creation process of this new album.
“For me, it’s simply an immense desire to sing, to return to my roots and my first identity. Without stigmas. Their fados, sung by me. That’s all,” concludes the fado singer.

On December 5th, Raquel Tavares will take to one of the most emblematic national stages, the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon. In this unique concert, Raquel appears free, renewed, and true to her artistic self, reconnecting with the stage and the audience in a rare moment of surrender. This promises to be a reunion with tradition, with longing, and with the Portuguese soul that Raquel carries in her voice and heart. A show that will be, above all, an act of freedom – and a gesture of love for the music that has always defined her. The last tickets are still on sale.
