Portuguese Network of Contemporary Art in the North presents itself at BTL
The public presentation of RPAC – Norte (Portuguese Network of Contemporary Art) is scheduled for the 17th of March, at BTL – Lisbon Tourism Exchange.
The event will be hosted in the Turismo do Porto e Norte space and will count with the participation of the President of Turismo do Porto e Norte, Luís Pedro Martins, the Regional Director of Culture of the North, Laura Castro, and the General Director of Arts, Américo Rodrigues. In addition to the presentation of the project, the institutional moment will also mark the launch of the website www.rpacnorte.pt, a platform where all initiatives related to RPAC – North will be aggregated.
RPAC – Norte brings together, for the first time, 13 museums and centers of contemporary art and architecture in the North region in a project that aims to enhance the territorial value of 4 distinct tourist destinations: Porto, Douro, Minho and Trás-os-Montes. Promoted by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the North, with the support of Turismo do Porto and North of Portugal and the institutions involved, it will showcase more than 11 thousand works of art, available in 11 cities in the North of the country.
In addition to promoting visits by the internal public, this initiative is intended to attract new audiences, with a focus on Spanish border regions, providing them with knowledge of tourist and cultural routes.
Participated by 13 of the most relevant museums and centers of contemporary art and architecture in the Region, RPAC – Norte will be at BTL between the 16th and 20th of March. It will be present in the space of Turismo do Porto e Norte, partner of the project, where the public presentation will also take place.
