The collective REI BRUXO presents the album-book O Quarto Fechado: a name they chose to describe this object, which is both a music album and a book with a story, characters, illustrations, and lyrics.
On October 4, they will perform a presentation concert at CAAA (Center for Art and Architecture Affairs), in Guimarães, at 11 p.m. On October 25, they will perform at Porto Prog Night, at the CCOP Auditorium, Porto.

REI BRUXO is a collective founded in 2017 by three creators: Ricardo Pinto (guitar, keyboards), Sofia Faria Fernandes (vocals), and Marcelo Rúben Aires (drums). They are dedicated to exploring and fusing unusual sounds and musical, technical, and timbral resources to create a provocative, contemporary repertoire that instigates new reflections on the current world and its problems. Music to unsettle.
The music of the new album—while faithful to the sound REI BRUXO established in previous releases—is a bold exercise in experimentation and fluidity, revealing a myriad of inspirations ranging from progressive rock to electronic music, including jazz, grunge, hip-hop, MPB, stoner, experimental, noise, hardcore, and more.

The text for O Quarto Fechado stems from stories, paragraphs, and passages from the eponymous third movement of Paul Auster’s New York Trilogy. The characters, places, situations and events speak to us of isolation and invisibility and show us how “an escape from the world would be impossible, since there is no other world” (Byung-Chul Han).
