Renault 5 E-Tech electric is the Car of the Year 2025

Second consecutive title for Renault

In the first round of voting last November, the electric Renault 5 E-Tech, presented alongside the Alpine A290, was named one of the seven finalists, along with the Alfa Romeo Junior, the Citroën ë-C3/C3, the Cupra Terramar, the Dacia Duster, the Hyundai Inster and the Kia EV3.

The winning duo was chosen by 60 automotive journalists from 23 countries. The electric Renault 5 E-Tech and the Alpine A290 came in first place, with 353 points. Renault’s new electric pop icon becomes the brand’s eighth car to win the prestigious Car of the Year award, after the Renault 16 (1966), Renault 9 (1982), Clio III (1991), Scenic (1997), Megane ( 2003), Clio II (2006) and Scenic E-Tech electric (2024).
