Resistência has just unveiled more concerts to celebrate its 30-year career, in December. The 11th at Casa da Música, in Porto, will have an extra session at 5:30 pm and on December 30th, the celebrations will travel to Figueira da Foz, where the band will perform at CAE – Centro de Artes e Espectaculos. Tickets are on sale at the usual places.
For the celebrations of their three-decade career, Resistencia, the supergroup responsible for countless songs that still unite crowds today, decided to prepare a special show to be presented in December. Due to the huge turnout at the box office, two new dates are now unveiled to add to those already announced: the concert on the 11th at Casa da Música, in Porto, gains an extra session at 5:30 pm and on the 30th, the celebrations will travel to Figueira da Foz, where the Resistência will go up at 9:30 pm on the stage at CAE – Centro de Artes e Espetáculo. Tickets are on sale at the usual places.
The Resistance project was born from the intention of joining guitars and voices and bringing together the best songs of a generation. The first steps were taken by Pedro Ayres de Magalhães, Fernando Cunha, Miguel Angelo and Tim, who quickly recruited Fernando Júdice, Yuri Daniel, Fred Mergner, Dudas, Alexandre Frazão and Olavo Bilac to join the adventure. Thus was born the first Portuguese superband. ‘Palavras ao Vento’ (1991), the debut album, ‘Mano a Mano‘ (1992) and ‘Ao Vivo no Armazém 22‘ are testimonies of the true unifying power of hits such as ‘Nasce Selvagem‘, ‘Não Sou o Único‘ or ‘Lugar ao Sol‘.
Today, 30 years later, Fernando Cunha, Tim, Miguel Angelo, Olavo Bilac, Alexandre Frazão, José Salgueiro, Mário Delgado and Pedro Jóia continue this story. In December, this group of friends will once again perform on stage to sing with one voice and celebrate an already long story that is far from over.
