Horta Restaurant with a taste of Lisbon on a secret terrace

At Pateo Alfacinha, in Ajuda

  • The menu is a creative reinterpretation of Portuguese tradition.
  • The Tagus River is the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience.

Until October, Horta Restaurant is open at Pateo Alfacinha with a menu that celebrates the freshness of the season and the authentic flavours of national cuisine, with the Tagus River as a backdrop—one of the most stunning views in the capital.

From appetite-inducing appetisers—like the Peixinhos da Horta with chipotle aioli, the roasted Black Pork Chorizo, or the Mini-preguinhos made with Black Pork Cheeks—to reinvented classic-inspired dishes—like the Arroz Malandrinho with octopus and coriander, the shiitake mushroom risotto, or the Bacalhau Asa Branca à Lagareiro—each suggestion was created with special attention to the product, the flavour, and the experience.

On the grill, highlights include the giant tiger prawn with lemon butter, the grilled octopus with padrón peppers, or the Azorean veal chop, always accompanied by the iconic Horta potatoes.

Finally, desserts that take comfort to another level: Abade de Priscos pudding, 70% chocolate mousse with vanilla sauce, caramel fondant with or without ice cream, and the now-classic Casa do Marquês artisanal ice creams, with exclusive flavors like Torta de Azeitão.

Everything is designed to pair with the flavours on the menu—or simply to toast summer and good times.

This year’s offering, conceived by Chef Humberto Santos, Executive Chef at Casa do Marquês, and his team, offers a journey between tradition and creativity. Seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers create dishes that pay homage to the essence of Portugal with a touch of irreverence. Chef Carlos Vieira leads the resident team, ensuring, summer after summer, the quality of the gastronomic offering that brings Horta to life.

More than a restaurant, Horta is a celebration of fine dining and the art of hospitality, in a typically Lisbon setting, where views of the bridge over the Tagus River transform every meal into a special memory.
