The countdown begins today for the Worten Mock Fest – International Comedy Festival, which will transform Cinema São Jorge into the epicentre of comedy from August 28th to 30th.
With several sold-out screenings, the festival is establishing itself as one of the most anticipated events of Lisbon’s cultural summer.
A month before its debut, the Worten Mock Fest enters warm-up mode with the Worten Mock Cast, a five-episode podcast available weekly on Worten’s Spotify and the festival’s official YouTube channel. Hosted by Joana Miranda and Manel Rosa, the inaugural episode features Ricardo Araújo Pereira in a relaxed conversation where everything (or almost everything) is a joke.
This new digital format serves as a preview of the festival, releasing original content with some of its protagonists weekly. Upcoming episodes will feature more interviews, challenges, and behind-the-scenes footage, which promises to keep the audience engaged until the end of August.
Also, this week marks another key moment in the run-up to the festival: next Wednesday, July 30th, in Portimão, the final session of the Worten Mock Test will take place. The national tour that has been touring the country throughout July, revealing talent and measuring the pulse of emerging comedy, has been taking place.
It’s worth noting that several shows are already sold out, including those by Daniel Sloss, the trio of “hotties” Ricardo Araújo Pereira, José Diogo Quintela, and Miguel Góis, who will present their podcast “Assim Vamos Ter de Falar de Outra Maneira” live, and “Bate Pé,” the podcast by Mafalda Castro and Rui Simões, which will also be presented live.
The Worten Mock Fest program includes more than five hours of daily shows in the three rooms of Cinema São Jorge, bringing together renowned names in comedy such as Jim Jefferies (who debuts his new European tour in Lisbon), Rafi Bastos, Luana do Bem, Luís Franco-Bastos, Diogo Batáguas, Ali Woods, Adam Rowe, Olga Koch, Erika Ehler, Thor Stenhaug, and Marty Gleeson – in addition to the live premiere of the television show “Irritações.”

WORTEN MOCK FEST FOR ITS CREATOR
Worten Mock Fest is the first festival from Kilt, an artist agency that manages the careers of Dário Guerreiro, Diogo Batáguas, Guilherme Geirinhas, João Pedro Pereira, Luana do Bem, Manel Rosa, Tiago Almeida, and Vítor Sá. At the same time, she is a reference in audiovisual production, responsible for media and viral content such as “The Rest of Your Life,” “Everything Will Go Well,” “False Slows,” “Palácio da Ajuda,” “DB Report,” and “Good Party.” As an event producer, she is a true off-roader, presenting shows for 60 or 6,000 people.
WORTEN MOCK FEST BY ITS OFFICIAL SPONSOR
Andreia Vaz, Head of Brand & Customer Experience at Worten, the festival’s official sponsor, states that “humour and irreverence are part of Worten’s DNA: they’ve always been with us, and we believe they continue to be the best way to build a close relationship with the Portuguese people. This is reflected in our campaigns and in the people we choose to represent the brand. We want to invest in innovative and unique formats, and it is in this spirit that we partner with Worten Mock Fest, an incredible festival that will certainly pack the São Jorge theatres. If this is going to be the biggest humour festival in the country, Worten had to be a part of it and give its name to this event.”
THE WORTEN MOCK FEST FOR ITS OFFICIAL DRINK
Bruno Albuquerque, Director of Beers and Sponsorships at Super Bock Group, shares the brand’s vision for the festival: “Super Bock is where good stories are told – and the Worten Mock Fest is one of them. We embraced this partnership naturally because we believe in the power of laughter, friendship, and sharing. Being the official beer and naming the main stage is our way of celebrating those who create and live humour with enthusiasm. Ultimately, this is what connects us: celebrating together, with authenticity and good humour.”
THE WORTEN MOCK FEST FOR ITS PROGRAMMING PARTNER
The Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation debuts at the Worten Mock Fest with [IN]Pertinent Conversations, an initiative that invites the public to reflect on the social, economic, and political role of humour. Featuring speakers like Ricardo Araújo Pereira, João Pereira Coutinho, Luísa Vaqueiro Lopes, Gustavo Jesus, and Diogo Batáguas, the sessions will address provocative questions: Can humour mitigate political polarisation? Do political satire programs influence election results? And to what extent does laughter shape our worldview or impact mental health? These conversations seek to consider humour as more than entertainment—but rather as a cultural phenomenon with growing relevance in Brazilian society.
