Rihanna reveals “Friend of Mine” from the soundtrack of “Smurfs”
Singer voices the character Smurfette – single and official music video now available on digital platforms
Rihanna has just released “Friend of Mine”, the theme song from the official soundtrack of “Smurfs”, from Paramount Animation, distributed in Portugal by NOS Audiovisuais.
Rihanna is also one of the protagonists of the film, which will premiere in Portugal on July 17, voicing the character Smurfette. The soundtrack is now available for pre-sale/pre-save and will be officially released on June 13. “Friend of Mine” also has an official music video.
“Friend of Mine” is the second song released from the soundtrack, after “Higher Love”, by DESI TRILL featuring DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Natania and Subhi. The song “Higher Love” also has an official video.
In addition to the star-studded cast, the soundtrack will also feature a new song by Tyla. The pre-save for the “Smurfs” soundtrack is now available.

When Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is mysteriously kidnapped by two evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission to the real world to save it. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs will have to discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.
“Smurfs: The Big Movie” features an all-star voice cast, including Rihanna, James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Billie Lourd, Xolo Maridueña, Marshmello, with Kurt Russell and John Goodman. The Portuguese version features the voices of Soraia Tavares, Áurea, Eduardo Madeira, Ana Garcia Martins, Nuno Markl, Tecas, Renato Godinho, among others. It is set to premiere in Portugal on July 17, only in theatres, in dubbed and subtitled versions.
