Rio de Janeiro will hold the 27th World Congress of Architects in 2020
The Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro will be next year the world capital of architecture and host of the 27th World Congress of Architects.
It is the most important event in the sector, where more than 20,000 participants are expected.
Between July 19 and 23, 2020, Rio de Janeiro will be the destination of international architecture with the slogan “all worlds, one world”.
The President of the Executive Council of the Congress, Sergio Magalhães, explains that this is an event that will bring together global thinking about cities and architecture, in which proposals for the future of cities will be discussed.
The congress will address the integration between architecture, construction, housing, infrastructure, mobility, urbanism, urban planning and city management.
In parallel, issues related to smart cities, sustainable development, basic sanitation, infrastructure, urban mobility and heritage, among others, will be addressed.
This forum will be held from 17 to 18 July, will bring together the local leaders of the 26 cities that have hosted the congress in previous years.
The official program will begin at the traditional “reveillón” party, where the congress will be announced after hosting the new year on the iconic Copacabana beach.
Museums, libraries and emblematic places of the city, such as the home of Roberto Burle Marx, the renowned Brazilian artist and landscape artist, will be some of the places where congress activities will also take place.
