Robbie Williams performs for the first time in Porto at the North Festival

May 26th, 27th and 28th, at Alfândega do Porto

Celebrating 25 years of career, the artist will present a new album, which includes new songs and reimagined versions of his greatest hits.

The British singer Robbie Williams will perform, for the first time, in the city of Porto, more specifically on the stage of the North Festival, with the concert scheduled for the 28th of May. The artist is the first big name announced by Vibes & Beats, promoter of the event, and one of the headliners of the first festival of the year, which will take place on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of May, at Alfândega do Porto. Celebrating 25 years of a solo career, Robbie Williams’ debut at Invicta is part of the world tour “The XXV Tour”, the same name as the album released in September to mark this milestone.

Almost 10 years later, the public will thus have the opportunity to vibrate with “reworked, reimagined and re-released” versions of some of the artist’s greatest hits, including “Angels”, as well as discover new themes, such as “Lost” and “No regrets”. Part of this act of “reimagining” and “re-love” present on the new album is a musical act, as Robbie Williams is also getting closer to each song – or, as he says, “competing on many of the tracks with a much younger me” –, offering the new versions all the experience of who they are now.

Robbie Williams is currently one of the biggest international artists and continues to break records: the British singer has more than 85 million albums sold worldwide; 14 UK number-one albums (the most for any solo artist, surpassing Elvis Presley and approaching the Beatles’ 15); 14 number one singles, the most concert tickets sold in one day and countless world-class albums, tours, concerts, and collaborations. These numbers are just a small part of the whole wild journey, on which the album “XXV” presents a fresh and illuminating perspective.

Jorge Veloso, founder, and CEO of the promoter Vibes & Beats, says that “the debut of an artist the size of Robbie Williams in the city of Porto could only be at the North Festival. It fills us with pride to be able to welcome one of the greatest artists of all time to our stage”. And he continues: “Robbie Williams is just the first of the big names in world music that the North Festival will receive this year, in addition to Portuguese projects and artists that we will continue to cherish and give visibility to, for his enormous talent”. “In 2023, the North Festival kicks off the big summer festivals again with concerts and unforgettable experiences, in a year that promises to be one of the best ever. In May, the compass points North!”, he concludes.

North Festival: Much more than just a music festival
Promoted by Vibes & Beats, the North Festival – which, in 2023, celebrates its fifth edition – is positioned, today, as much more than a music festival, being a reference in the national cultural panorama for the differentiating experiences it provides, and that makes him charismatic. Here, the VIP Experience stands out, with an exclusive entrance and a privileged view of the stage, providing an unforgettable experience in the company of the public’s favorite artists.

The exclusive space also has a stunning setting with the Douro River as a backdrop. It is in this area that the sunset stage is located, the ideal place to spend the late afternoon and toast with friends, to the sound of the best beats, creating truly memorable moments for festival-goers. The space that, this year, presents itself with a new image and configuration, will also have personalized catering and bars, and restricted bathrooms, in order to ensure maximum comfort and safety. This premium experience will also give access to the already known boat trips.

On the festival grounds, at Alfândega do Porto, festival-goers will once again have access to a food court, a space exclusively designed with street food operators, which combines rustic and contemporary flavors with wine experiences. The North Festival will also have a lounge space where there will be no shortage of barbers, tattoo artists, make-up artists, and many other surprises.

One of the novelties of the last editions – and which is also returning in 2023 – is the clubbing stage. For those who still have breath, the space brings revelry and animation after the concerts to the sound of the best DJs of today. Brand activations are also back, thanks to the numerous successful partnerships established over the years. With these moments, the North Festival strengthens its relationship with the public and provides unique and unforgettable experiences from various segments and sectors.

The full North Festival 2023 lineup will be announced soon. Daily tickets are already on sale on the website and in the usual places.
