Roberto Carlos, the mythical Brazilian singer and composer, is back on the European continent to celebrate more than 60 years of career. September 19th in Ponta Delgada in the Azores, October 4th in Lisbon and October 6th in Braga.

Tickets and room information will be available on May 23rd, at 1 pm, in the usual places and at everythingisnew.pt

Roberto Carlos needs no introduction. He began his musical career in the 1950s with the musical projects The Sputnik’s (which also included Tim Maia, for example) and The Snakes (where he met his songwriting “partner“, Erasmo Carlos). His first big success came with the 1963 album, Splish Splash, which led him to perform on several radio and television stations, introducing the new star of Brazilian music to the world.

With each single and album contributing to his growing success in his home country, Roberto Carlos’ first internationalization took place in 1967 when he was part of the lineup at the MIDEM music fair (Cannes), playing the following year at the San Remo Festival ( Italy).

At the same time, a new musical chapter begins in the singer-songwriter’s career, where songs with romantic content gain space in singles and albums released. With themes such as “Detalhes” (1971), “Proposta” (1973), “Seu Corpo” (1975), “Cavalgada” (1977), “Café da Manhã” (1978), or “Desabafo” (1979) it is achieved the mark of more than one million sales.

It was then in 1974 that a collaboration began that has lasted to this day: a special end-of-year program that 2024 will celebrate 50 years of existence. Other milestones in Roberto Carlos’ career took place in 1997, when he met Pope John Paul II in Rio de Janeiro and sang for more than 2 million people; the following year, his duet with tenor Luciano Pavarotti; in 2000 the recording of Acústico MTV; in 2005 the trip along the coast of Brazil called Emoções em Alto Mar where he invited friends, artists, fans and press to a series of intimate concerts with special lineups. Even before the 90s, the “Emotions” tour visited 18 cities in 14 states in Brazil and featured a team of 110 professionals. A milestone that has not yet been surpassed in the history of Brazilian music.

In September and October of this year, Roberto Carlos celebrates his career with three remarkable and unmissable concerts in Portugal.
