Rock in Rio Festival rescheduled for June 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic
Dreaming and making things happen are two of the engines of Rock in Rio and two tools powerful to overcome any challenge. Also, now in this unexpected moment, which affects the majority of the Portuguese (and practically the whole world), Rock in Rio won’t fail to do so.
The producers, with several options at the table about what decision to make about the festival, one of the options being the scheduling for May 2021, they decided to reschedule the festival for the month of June 2021.
Thus, the 9th edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa will be held on June 19, 20, 26 and 27, 2021, with the certainty that this will be an even more magical and special edition.
And in 2022 we will be back for the 10th edition, leaving no room for homesickness and resuming the party “in the even years”.
Tickets already purchased will remain valid for the new dates, leaving the days open until confirmation of the poster, but more information and news will be shared when the state of emergency is dismissed.
“Until then, our wish is only one: to continue smiling! Because it is smiling that we will win this one more and it is smiling that, together, we will enjoy music, entertainment, and culture again, in the near future”, says Roberta Medina, Executive Vice President of Rock in Rio, at the end of the statement.
